The Memorandum of Understanding (“MoU”) is the signed agreement between the Australian Government and the Government of Kiribati, which support the Australian Seasonal Worker Program scheme.
Seasonal Worker Program (SWP) is formerly called Pacific Seasonal Worker Pilot Scheme (PSWPS) and first kicked off in 2010 with 11 workers. As for March 2017, there are 42 workers in the scheme.
The Ministry of Labour & Human Resources Development is administrating the recruitment of workers under this scheme, with the support of the Australian Government.
The scheme is aimed to develop Kiribati economically through providing further employment opportunities for its people.
